Tinting Acrylic Paint Colors. Lightening your acrylic paint colors with white paint is called tinting. Each color has a limit on just how much lighter you can make it. This is called tinting strength. Dark colors have a higher tinting strength because they’re darker to start with and so have more room to be made lighter. Specifically, the living room, dining room and entry way. Choose a color scheme for those areas first, then pull one color from the scheme. For example, take the red sofa and tone it down (say, to burgundy) for an accent in more private spaces such as the den, office or bedroom.

"Constructcons are Vior'la and Dinobots are tau" would work as they have different schemes. If you go for the full suite of Autobots maybe paint the rim of the bases so someone can Identify sept by base color. level 2
There are many different ones, and they're in different colours; there's T'au, the original sept, in dull orange (desert camo), there's vior'la, the white with red trim, there's sa'cea, dull blue, there's dal'yth, dark green...

I'm starting a Tau army and i am having trouble coming up with a color scheme. I really dont like any in the codex and havent seen many alternatives online. I like bright colors, as this will be the first army i could actually paint bright colors on.
The default TU color scheme is a sort of light golden brown. If you are talking about true yellow, that might not be so great for the tau. Yellow is a great color though, maybe think of a more neutral color like gray or brown, with yellow for things like stripes, markings, and individual armor panels.
